The Project:

KLH worked closely with Clarion to develop a Circular Economy Strategy for use across their development portfolio, and piloted on their Merton Regeneration Project, a 17-phase project in South London.

This bespoke strategy provides guidance for embedding circular economy principles throughout the whole building lifecycle. It is built around three fundamental principles: building in layers, social value and the waste hierarchy. Following research and engagement with the Clarion project teams, KLH identified 12 practical interventions to reduce waste generation and material consumption, while maximising social value and economic return on investment.

The Clarion Circular Economy Strategy has received a great deal of positive coverage, including within the Green Building Council Circular economy guidance for construction clients.
